Wattpad is Top App in App Store

It’s been just two short weeks since the launch of our iPhone app, the response has been great! We are now the #4 app in the US, Canada and a number of other countries. We got lots of suggestions and comments, you will see some of them in the upcoming update. Be sure to keep sending us your comments.

Upload your MS Word documents

You can now upload your written works in MS Word (.doc) format. Your file will be converted into text and displayed on the screen for you to review before submitting. We are still testing this feature, so if you come across any problems, let us know.

Paged reading of books

We’ve made a small but important change to the way books are now displayed on the website. Instead of showing the entire book on one page, it is now broken up into pages. We hope this will make reading from your desktop browser easier, you can now bookmark in your browser which page you’re on. Let us know if you have any comments about this new feature.

iPhone update

In a few short days, the Wattpad app for iPhone and iPod Touch has already been downloaded over 3000 times, putting it #5 in its category in the App Store! But it was not without a few glitches.

There were initially problems for 1st generation iPod Touch users, that’s been fixed. So if you had problems earlier installing it, give it a shot now. Some users also reported a problem with the search not returning any results, this has also been fixed. Lots of you have sent us suggestions for the iPhone app and we’ve been taking notes. More than a few of them will be showing up in updates, so keep your eyes peeled!

A few days ago, we released a brand new version of Wattpad for iPhone / iPod Touch, probably the best version of Wattpad so far. That’s all good, but what if you don’t have an iPhone or iPod? No problem. Join us on Facebook for a chance to win one!

Wattpad is now available on iPhone

You can now enjoy the full Wattpad experience on your iPhone or iPod Touch! This is the initial iPhone release and it’s already packed with features: personal library management and auto-bookmarking, portrait and landscape reading modes, configurable fonts and colors, automatic scrolling, personalized recommendations and social features. Head on over to the App Store to get the free download.

Want to “Read offline”?

With our recent website redesign, we’ve moved around a few options. One commonly used option, the “Read offline” button has been moved from the bottom of the story page, to the right-hand side along with all the other options.  We hope this will keep the page more organized and make it easier to access.
